I often get asked which type of massage is right for me? It is never easy deciding on what type of massage may be best for your mind, body and soul, at any given time in your life. So I have compiled a list of all my massages as a guide to help you decide on your next treatment, with me, at Purple Freesia Integrated Therapies:
Sports and Remedial Massage
Sports and Remedial massage is aimed at anyone suffering with muscular aches or strains. Maybe you need some help with pre-event preparation or would like help with relaxing before, after or during a sporting event?
Sports and Remedial massage focuses on prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons. It can be very beneficial for you if you have injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion. My sports massage can be vigorous at times but it is well worth while when it comes to reducing pain and injuries. I use soft tissue therapy to treat musculoskeletal injury or pain caused by any of life’s stresses.
People assume that sport will be a common influencing factor in many of our client’s symptoms, but it is far from being the main issue I deal with. Common lower back pain/injury comes from sitting down too much, creating an imbalance within certain muscle groups.
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is performed to stimulate circulation, flush the circulatory system, release tight muscles, restore range of motion and relieve pain.
My Swedish massage techniques include circular pressure applied by my hands and palms, kneading, stroking and gliding, tapping or pounding and stretching. the muscles.
Stress Busting Massage
Stress is the feeling of being under too much mental or emotional pressure. However stress can be turned into physical pain, when the body activates it’s stress response. This is when the brain perceives a threat it will release hormones to set up a ‘fight or flight’ response. Therefore in combination with life, stressors such as relationships, work, or worrying, the stress response will trigger a mind-body reaction.
My stress busting treatment will deal with the effects of your stress response. The treatment will combine a full body massage with reflexology to relax the body and reduce all levels of stress.
Insomnia Massage
When your mind is busy and full of thoughts, your everyday activities can be affected, performance can suffer and your sleep routine is non-existent. Relaxing your mind can help ease stress, relieve anxiety, depression and sleep problems but sometime we all need help to get into this relaxed state.
My Insomnia treatment, will help you do just that. During the treatment, I combine both reflexology and a relaxing massage to help you calm down, breathe more deeply and feel at ease. I also use this treatment time to understand if my client has other worries that may be affecting their sleep routine and I provide advice where possible to help them create a more welcoming sleep environment.
Lymph Massage
Lymph massage is a therapeutic massage treatment and I will use very light pressure and long, gentle strokes to increase the flow of lymph and reduce toxins in your body. The lymph system is part of your body’s immune system and helps fight infection so we need to ensure this is functioning properly. My lymph massage concentrates on you as a person and understanding how I can improve your circulation and reduce the swelling.
