Being a woman myself and seeing many of my friends experiencing the changes of menopause, we at Purple Freesia understand that this is a time for regeneration and transformation.
Before menopause starts, periods start to become irregular. These are either longer or shorter in duration and/or lighter or heavier in flow. During the transition into menopause, a woman may experience hot flushes lasting from 30 seconds to over 10 minutes at a time. Hot flushes can last for 1-2 years.
Did you know?……. that a study conducted in 2018 found that foot reflexology was effective in decreasing blood cortisol levels as well as hot flushes in menopausal women.
I would highly recommend reflexology as therapy of ‘choice’ to aid a women’s journey through the menopause. Hot flushes, night sweats, mood changes, memory loss, sudden weight gain, to name a few, are all menopausal symptoms that can be debilitating. However, reflexology can help regulate the peripheral nervous system, by stimulating the pituitary gland, the hypothalamus and the thymus reflex points.
Reflexology for menopause can make the symptoms listed more bearable and it can also relieve the stress and tension that can cause so many side effects.
Here at Purple Freesia Integrated Therapies we know that supporting the menopausal journey using reflexology will aid hormones to get back into ‘balance’. In turn, this creates an emotional cleansing which relieves stress and rejuvenates harmony within mind, body and soul.
Every woman who has started their menopausal journey with us, has benefited from having regular nerve reflexology sessions to help the transition into and beyond the menopause.
