5 Health Benefits Of Seniors Massage Therapy

I am a firm believer in the ‘power of human touch’ to help heal and to ‘connect’ to one another. Everyone needs ‘touch’ and to feel affirmed, especially the seniors in all our lives. As the years pass, the body ages and is more in need of care and kind. We forget that our bodies are the vessels carrying our souls and that they need to be looked after.

Seniors would really benefit from massage, from a ‘touch’ point of view, as they may not have family members still alive or someone to have their back. This could be their one ‘lifeline’ to having the company and care they crave and deserve to have.  We all deserve to feel loved.

Many seniors come to me for massage as they have arthritic pain. Seniors Massage helps to alleviate arthritic pain and to improve circulation. Circulation deteriorates as we age, so massage is a great helper with this to seniors. Not many know that massage can also help with stroke recovery too. As the years go on our balance starts to go too and so a senior would benefit from massage as it can improve balance whilst reducing stress and muscle tension.

I regularly go for massages myself, as I am great at practicing what I preach! With this in mind, as the years on my clock are  starting to ‘rack’ up I am making more time for more therapy and intervention. I swear by the power of ‘human touch’ to help alleviate and aid all chronic illness.

So, in summary, the five health benefits to seniors massage therapy from me are as follows:

  • Relieves arthritic pain
  • Improves balance
  • Improves circulation
  • Can help with stroke recovery
  • Reduces both stress and muscle tension
